Historical sights

Via Mikulov and its wider surroundings – from Znojmo to Lednice and Valtice or from the north from Brno to Vienna – a number of travellers, traders and troops passed through. The troops often tried to destroy what the builders of the estate – in particular the Dietrichsteins and the Liechtensteins –did for the creation of a picturesque garden in the heart of Europe.

Number of fortified and residential seats of nobility, the uniquely preserved town centres with buildings and elements of all architectural styles – from Romanesque and Gothic to Renaissance and Art Nouveau – offer interesting opportunities for lovers of history and architecture to wander freely.
