Gourmet adventures
Since the Middle Ages the Mikulov – Pálava region has always stood for artificially created landscapes full of ponds, vegetable gardens, orchards, vineyards and game parks or hunting grounds. This is why the tradition of quality ingredients, ranging from trout, zander, game, famous white and interesting red wines to traditional apricots – suitable for desserts and also traditional spirits – asparagus and strawberries, is the basis of traditional Moravian and Pálava region cousine.
It bears the features of the choicest dishes from Renaissance times and it was shaped by the influences of the national cousines of “the old monarchy” – Viennese, Hungarian, Jewish and Croatian.
